Osun 2022: APC Leader Warns Caretaker Chairmen Against Anti-Party Activities

Ahead of the 2022 Osun State Governorship election, the All Progressives Congress, (APC) has warned its newly elected local government party chairmen not to engage in activities that could promote factions in the party. 

The Chairman, APC Caretaker State Chairman in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodun gave the warning during the Swearing-in ceremony of the elected chairmen during the Local Government Congress held at the State secretariat, Osogbo.

He charged them to foster unity and peace among members, thereby ensuring support for the state government, under Governor Adegboyega Oyetola. 

Prince Famoodun urged them to live to the dictate of their oath of office and act within the provisions of the constitution of the party, while he stressed the need to respect all party leaders.

The APC caretaker chairman encouraged them to work with stakeholders, traditional rulers, religious leaders and others Stakeholders in their local governments with the aim of promoting peace and tranquility.

Oyetola Orders Withdrawal Of Litigation Against “Unruly” Osun APC Members

The governor of Osun State, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola has directed the Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee in the State, Prince Gboyega Famodun, to discontinue the court case against some chieftains of the party who allegedly invaded the party secretariat with armed thugs during the Ward Congress.

This directive is contained in a press statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Ismail Omipidan, which was made available to newsmen in Osogbo.

The governor, who was away when the incident occurred, had in the wake of the crisis, directed security operatives to take charge of the party secretariat to prevent any further breakdown of law and order.

He also condemned what he termed the “unruly behaviour” exhibited by some aggrieved members of the party at the APC Secretariat in Osogbo.

According to the statement, the governor summoned an emergency meeting of the party stakeholders and insisted that as members of the same family, whatever differences that existed could be resolved without necessary resorting to litigation.
