Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun state has commended the media for their professionalism of balance reportage and eschewing fake news, as they uphold ethics of their profession.

Governor Adeleke gave the commendation during interactions with Journalists to strengthen the cordial relationship support of the media for his administration after his return from the one month working vacation to Thailand.

The Governor expressed his joy for the pleasantries and goodwill received from the people of Thailand which he attributed to the good information dissemination by the media about the developmental projects by his administration in the state.

Governor Adeleke explained that at his return Osun state will continue to witness more dividend of democracy, just as he commissioned the new Osun Health Insurance Agency office in Abeere.

Earlier, the Commissioner of Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi had said the Governor has a lot of developmental plan to make Osun state record a monumental infrastructure achievement considering his interaction with investors from overseas.

Meanwhile, Governor Adeleke, after hosting journalists, proceeded on inspection of the ongoing dualisation of Old Garage-Okefia-Lameco Road in Osogbo.

The Governor while inspecting the project, noted that he will ensure speedy delivery of the road project while ensuring that it is of standard quality.

Officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force have been urged to always be professional in discharging their civic responsibility. 

Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG, in charge the southwest geopolitical zone , Mr  Babatunde Kokumo stated this during a working visit to the Police Command in Oyo State.

Mr Kokumo said Police officers should at all times respect people’s rights and be civil with people. 

He noted that their training,  uniforms and their ammunitions  were meant to protect the public and should  not be used in threatening,  assaulting or extortion money from the citizens. 

DIG Kokumo explained that Police are peace makers,  hence the need for them to work within the ambience of law.

He stated further that though,  some members of the public had lost hope in Policemen, the assumption could still be redeemed through professionalism,  dedication,  diligence and lawful behaviour.

The DIG ,therefore, called on the Command not to allow disgruntled elements to distract or lure them from discharging their duties optimally. 

Earlier, in her address of welcome, Commissioner of Police in Oyo state,  Mrs Ngozi Onadeko said though,  the Command was faced with numerous challenges , through the resilience of gallant officers the siege had reduced gradually.

Mrs Onadeko ,therefore, assured the public of a continuous improvement in the security sector and called for more support from members of the public through intelligence sharing of information as well as a solid synergy among other sister agencies.
