Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has extended warmest greetings to the Muslim community on the joyous occasion of Eid-el-Fitri.

In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, Senator Alli expressed his sincere felicitations to Muslims across the nation. 

Alli highlighted the significance of Eid-el-Fitri as a time of renewal, gratitude, and communal solidarity.

The lawmaker encouraged Nigerians to embrace the values of compassion, generosity, and empathy as the nation marks this auspicious occasion.

Alli encouraged all to imbibe the valuable lessons learnt during Ramadan, 

striving to be better individuals, neighbours and citizens while spreading a message of peace, love and unity.

He reminded them to continue practicing the virtues of patience, kindness, and generosity beyond Ramadan, integrating them into their daily lives and interactions with others.

“The essence of Ramadan goes beyond abstaining from food and drink; it is a time for self-discipline, empathy, compassion, and gratitude. 

“Let us reflect on the blessings of Ramadan and the spiritual growth we have experienced, using these insights to deepen our connection with our faith, ourselves, and those around us,” he said.

The lawmaker expressed optimism for a future where unity and understanding prevail, leading to a more prosperous and inclusive society.

Alli emphasised the importance of fostering interfaith harmony and understanding, calling for unity and cooperation among people of all faiths.

He reiterated the need for mutual respect and tolerance, recognising diversity as a source of strength and enrichment for society.

The lawmaker urged the people to continue praying for the nation and its leaders, expressing hope of a greater and prosperous country.

Alli reiterated his commitment to serving the people of Oyo South, pledging continued efforts towards community development, empowerment initiatives, and policies that uplift every citizen, irrespective of religious affiliation.

The lawmaker’s message resonates with hope and unity, reflecting the spirit of Eid-el-Fitri and the shared aspirations of all Nigerians for peace, harmony, and progress.

About 100 youths drawn from Oyo South Senatorial District are currently under group empowerment training organized by Senator Kola Balogun representing Oyo South Federal Constituency. 

In her welcome address, Executive Director, Institute of Agricultural Research and Training, I.A.R &T, Professor Veronica Obatelu said the empowerment training programme was timely in view of the national clamour for diversification into agriculture.

Professor Obatelu who said the institute possesses the resources to boost agricultural production commended the senator for giving back to his constituency.

In a remark, Senator, Oyo South Senatorial District, Mr. Kola Balogun said the program was needful in view of the prevailing poverty ratio in the country.

Senator Balogun who said he had moved motions on the upgrading of Ibadan Airport and the stoppage of medical tourism for public office holders, noted that electricity was critical to agricultural projects in the country.

The event which was held at the Institute of Agriculture Research and Training saw some participants pledging to make judicious use of the training for their economic emancipation.

Equipments distributed at the program include; cutlass, wheelbarrow, fish rearing tank, fertilizer, maize, yam seed, among others.
