Don’t go back to habits you forsook in Ramadan – Prof. Olagoke

As Muslims in Nigeria join their counterparts across the globe celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitri, the Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Olagoke has charged the Islamic faithful not to go back to all the habits they forsook during the 29-day Ramadan fast.

In his Eid-el-Fitri message, Professor Olagoke said the gains and blessings of Ramadan are not limited to the observance period alone, but extends to the period after the injunction and to access the blessings.

He said Muslims are expected to keep to the tenets of the Holy Quran as regards the Ramadan fast and enjoined all to avoid hate speech even under hostile environment of provocation.

According to him, it is one of the imports of the practical message of Ramadan.

Asking for moderate celebration of the Eid-el-Fitri, the cleric enjoined all to be cautious and celebrate within the ambit of civility and consideration for others, noting that “we must tolerate ourselves through upholding the principle of SWOT Analysis with basic support of the SMART concept to maximally achieve on current drive of governance transition and dispensation for a better future of bequeath-able legacy of Sustainable Development”.

Professor Olagoke used the occasion to pray for the country’s leadership at all levels and the people of Nigeria in general, “I pray that the peace of God that exceeds human understanding be bestowed upon our country, as a result of our sacrifices during the Lent and Ramadan fast”.

Live an exemplary life to inspire the younger generation – Prof. Olagoke

As Muslims all over the country celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Fitri, the spiritual head, Shafaudeen in Islam worldwide, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke has urged parents to ensure proper upbringing of their wards as a way to address the current insecurity challenges in the country. 

Professor Olagoke in a Sallah message to felicitate Muslims on the successful completion of this year’s Ramadan fast also admonished the adherents of Islam to imbibe and put into practice all the lessons learnt during the period in their daily affairs.

He said, parents are expected to work together on the physiological needs of their children for even growth and development.

He said this becomes imperative for the adolescent to have sound home training so that he/she would not be bought over by bad and poor influence of the environment.

The Islamic scholar said this would ensure that the home has peace and assured development for posterity, adding that the school must complement parent’s efforts in child rearing.

Professor Olagoke noted that Nigeria today is experiencing institutional indiscipline with the consequence of resulting insecurity; violence and destruction amidst general breakdown of all agents of socialization hence, the need for restoration of our core values by the traditional leaders, religious leaders and educational institutions.

He said government must promote justice, equity and pursue policies that anchor on respect for the fundamental human rights of the people.

Professor Olagoke also charged parents to promote the fear of God in all they do and live an exemplary lifestyle that would serve as a blueprint for the younger generation to follow.
