Small scale business owners want the Federal Government to prevail over Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, to reduce their tariff.
They made the call in Oshogbo in an interview with Radio Nigeria complaining about the electricity tariff despite the epileptic power supply.
One of them, Mr. Henry Ojo, who is a photographer lamented that the monthly bill given to his office was too outrageous despite not enjoying power supply for days.
Mr. Ojo said with the low sales, due to the Covid-19 and economic recession, he had to lay off two of his workers but still could not comprehend the exorbitant bills.
He said he received twenty thousand naira every month as bill without commensurate consumption of power supply.
Another artisan, Mrs. Ronke Adesola, who is a fashion designer said she relied on using power generating set to power her sewing machines which is affecting her business but still had to pay IBEDC bills.
Mrs. Adesola appealed to Federal Government and National Assembly to look into the electricity tariff to make life easy for the masses.
