Leaders of All Progressives Congress, APC in the Southwest region have opposed the agitation of separatists and urged those seeking cessation to desist towards promoting unity and stability in the country.

The APC Chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande stated this while addressing newsmen shortly after the meeting on the state of nation held at state house, Marina Lagos.

While pointing out that the APC leaders in the southwest region would continue to condemn violence in any form, Chief Akande urged the federal government to allocate adequate resources to enable military and security agencies tackle insecurity.

Chief Akande said that federalism would strengthen Democratic governance and promote peace and security, adding that allocation of adequate resources to the state governments would empower the states to solve localise issue before its degenerated to national issue.

The APC Chieftain also called on Federal government to collaborate with the state governments towards encouraging modern methods of cattle rearing towards curbing incessant Herders and Farmers crisis in the country.

He also urged the federal government to provide short, medium and long term finance to the states and those who wish to set up ranches as part of the agricultural sustainability policies.

APC Chieftains Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Chief Olusegun Osoba, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and Osun State Governor Gboyega Oyetola were among other dignitaries present at the meeting.

Catholic Bishops of Ibadan ecclesiastical province have enjoined South-West governors to ensure full implementation of various modalities aimed at ensuring peaceful–co-existence in the region.
They made this known in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting held in Ibadan.
Reading the communiqué on behalf of other Catholic bishops , the Catholic Archbishop of Ibadan, Most Reverend Gabriel Abegunrin noted that the catholic body was in full support of governors of the southwest in their quest to regulate the activities of some herdsmen who have been terrorizing the region for years.

Most Reverend Abegurin called on religious bodies to equally complement efforts of government at safeguarding lives and properties of the people with prayers.
Most Reverend Abegunrin equally urged the Federal Government to allow the nation’s medical experts to subject to appropriate test the COVID-19 vaccines being imported into the country.
He stressed the need for members of the public to adhere strictly to COVID-19 protocols.
