The Nigeria Police Force, Osun State Command, has arrested a 54-year-old man, Ojo David Oluwasesan, over an alleged visa fraud involving ₦8,410,000.
The Osun State Command’s spokesperson, Mr. Abiodun Ojelabi, speaking on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Gotan, said the suspect defrauded victims under the false pretence of securing travel visas.
Mr. Ojelabi explained that the incident occurred in January 2025 when two complainants, introduced to the suspect by a friend, met him after he presented himself as a travel agent capable of processing travel documents but instead of delivering on the agreement, the suspect allegedly absconded with the money and became unreachable.
He advised members of the public to exercise caution when dealing with travel agents for visa processing to avoid falling victim to fraud.
Police have since charged the suspect to court, where authorities remanded him in a correctional facility pending further proceedings.
