Some members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, from Ado

Local Government have protested at the party’s Secretariat over an alleged imposition of a candidate for the local government chairmanship seat.

The protesters, in large number, were seen chanting songs such as “No to imposition’ while some of them carried placards with various inscriptions bothering on their agitations.

Speaking with newsmen, two of the contestants, Mr Tajudeen Gidado, and Mrs Tosin Aluko, said they would not take anything short of election as they accused leaders of the party of breaching the constitution of the party.

Our reporter gathered that the protest was due to the rumour that the party had imposed Mrs Omotunde Fajuyi as the chairmanship candidate without any election.

Addressing the protesters, chairman of APC in Ekiti State, Mr Paul Omotoso said that primary election would be conducted and the date would be communicated to them later.

The party had last week postponed the primary elections in Ado, Ikole and Ekiti East.
