Commissioner of Police in Oyo state, Mr. Shina Olukolu has decorated ten senior officers from the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The programme was held at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan.

Mr. Olukolu called on the newly decorated officers to see their promotion as a commitment and challenge to be more dedicated to their duty.

He encouraged them to continue to work professionally in order to meet the objectives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Muhammed Adamu of securing the nation.

The police boss said the promotion served as a motivation to do more and they should be civil and professional while discharging their responsibility.

Mr. Olukolu stated further that the officers should ensure that they are accountable on whatever actions they do as anybody found guilty of any misconduct would not be pardoned.

The Commissioner of Police also appreciated the IGP for promoting some of the officers in the state, adding that the police in Oyo State and Nigeria in general would not let him down.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mr. Akoh Gabriel, said they were highly motivated with the promotion and pledged more commitment in the discharge of their duties.

Five Assistant Commissioners of Police were promoted to the Deputy Commissioner of Police while five Chief Superintendents of Police were lifted to the post of Assistant Commissioner of Police.
