Oyo State government has declared that public school teachers would now be promoted and honored according to their diligence and efficiency, as reflected in the overall performance of their students in external examinations.
Chairman, Oyo State Post-primary Schools Teaching Service Commission TESCOM, Akinade Alamu at an interactive session with School Managers in Saki zone, hinted that a committee has been set up to have data and measurement of individual teacher across the state.
He said promotion of teachers would no more be ‘business as usual’ as the present administration has concluded plans to award them, based on measures of efficient and productive input by teachers to make their students excel in external examinations.
Mr Alamu said the interactive session which had started with Saki zone would be held across the six zones in the state aimed at maintaining a good rapport between the commission and its teachers.
Earlier, Saki Zonal Head, Mrs Aderonke Oladoyinbo appreciated the giant stride taken by present administration towards improving the education sector.
Mrs Oladoyinbo therefore called on teachers to reciprocate the good gesture by cooperating with the government through efficiency.
