Men of the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command, have arrested a 50 year Old Kayode Oladehinde for allegedly defiling his 13-year-old stepdaughter.
The incident according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi occurred at Olope Street, Ogijo in Sagamu area of Ogun state.
Mr. Oyeyemi said the suspect was arrested following a report from the mother of the victim that her husband had forcefully had carnal knowledge of their daughter which resulted in pregnancy.
He noted that the mother of the victim alleged that the suspect having realized that the girl was pregnant, gave her drug in an attempt to abort the pregnancy.
Mr. Oyeyemi pointed out that the suspect was dumbfounded when confronted but pleaded for forgiveness from his wife and stepdaughter.
The spokesman of the state command said the woman got married to the suspect after the death of her husband.
Meanwhile, the commissioner of Police, Mr. Kenneth Ebrimson had ordered the transfer of the suspect to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the state criminal investigation and intelligence department for further investigation and possible prosecution.
