Oyo State Government has declared that members of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria, ALGON, are deliberately frustrating the planned out-of-court settlement of the crisis rocking local governments in the state.
A statement by Special Counsel to the State Governor, Chief Bolaji Ayorinde (SAN), says the sacked chairmen came to the negotiation table with absolute terms.
The statement notes that the out of court settlement is in the interest of the entire state and expresses government commitment to observing the rule of law.
According to the statement, the state government did not in any way frustrate the negotiation.
The statement therefore maintains it will be in the interest of all parties to reconvene under a very amiable atmosphere and come to an agreement on how to move forward.
