Probe Begins into Remo Stars Player’s Death in SARS Custody

Ogun State Police Command has cautioned social media users against the spreading of fake information on the activities of the command.

Spokesman of the command, Alhaji Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known while speaking on the incident that led to the death of Remo Sports Club player Tiamiyu Kazeem, known as Kaka.

He noted that the unfortunate incident occurred when the deceased was arrested with military camouflage on information from members of the public.

Alhaji Oyeyemi said the deceased knocked down by a vehicle on speed along the expressway while trying to escape from custody when the vehicle conveying them to the station developed a technical fault on the way.

The police spokesman said the Ogun State Commissioner of Police has ordered the immediate arrest of the officer for his unprofessional act of leaving an arrested person alone in the vehicle while a full-scale investigation has commenced on the case by State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department.

Information on social media has claimed the deceased was shot dead by the police officer, while another account said he was pushed out of a moving vehicle after labeling him a “Yahoo boy”.
