Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Mr Shina Olukolu has assured the residents of adequate security at all times, especially during the lockdown and curfew over the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr Olukolu stated this while briefing newsmen after a security meeting with some Heads of security in the state.

The police boss said this became imperative over the recent uproar from members of some communities in Ibadan and environs alleging threat by miscreants, who are taking advantage of the lockdown to rob them.

According Mr Olukolu, the police in the state had been responding promptly to security issues even before the recent uproar by the people that miscreants were robbing them, a situation caused the lockdown and necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

He noted that though, the police officers doing their best but the public should desist from the act of spreading fake robbery cases, thereby causing panic among the residents.

The police boss said the people should be rest assured that they would be covered and protected at all times.

The Oyo police boss, who added that Security is a collective responsibility, called for the continuous support of the public by giving out useful information whenever there’s unusual happenings in their communities for prompt intervention.
