Eight COVID-19 patients in Osun state, including two children have been discharged from the isolation center following their full recovery.

The State Commissioner for Health, Dr Rafiu Isamotu gave the information in a statement in Osogbo. 

The patients tested negative for the virus twice, following result of the sample sent to the NCDC Accredited Testing Centre, African Centre of Excellence in Genomics of Infectious Diseases, at the Redeemer’s University, Ede.  

Dr Isamotu said with the recovery and discharge of eight the persons, the number of active COVID-19 cases in the state had dropped from ten to two.

The discharged people comprised of three males and five females including two children of ages two and five years. 

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC yesterday announced that another person tested positive for the COVID-19 in Osun state.

This is contained in its daily update realized at 11:45pm last night.

With this, Osun state now has three patients receiving treatment for the COVID-19 infection at the state isolation center.
