The Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command, says the ban on social and religious gathering is still in force.

According to a statement made available by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi in Abeokuta, the reminder became necessary as the Ogun State Police Command has been informed that some religious leaders in the state were preparing to open their various religious centers for people to converge in disobedience to both the state and federal government directives.

The police spokesman said the command was appealing to religious leaders in both Islamic and Christian faith, who may want to go against the government directives, to have a change of mind as the security agencies in the state will respond appropriately.

Mr. Oyeyemi said the command would not tolerate acts capable of undermining efforts of the state and federal government in the fight against covid 19 pandemic.

The police command advised the people to cooperate with the government in its efforts to make the state coronavirus free.
