FMC Abeokuta Jubilates as Test Results of Infected Staff Read Negative

The management of the Federal Medical Centre Abeokuta says one of its two staff that tested positive for coronavirus, an Administrative staff has been discharged from the Ikenne Isolation Centre after two test results returned negative.

A statement by Head, Public Relations & Information of the hospital, Mr. Segun Orisajo in Abeokuta stated that the results of the samples of the second person a nurse, were being awaited.

The hospital spokesman revealed that there was wild jubilation among the staff as the news of the discharge of the Administrative staff was made public through a telephone call.

Mr Orisajo also quoted the hospital’s Medical Director Professor Adewale Musa-Olomu as describing the news as heartwarming and optimistic that the remaining staff will soon be discharged.
