Ogun state police command has arrested a twenty five year old man for forcefully having carnal knowledge of a seventy year old woman at Abule Lemode area of ijoko.
A statement by the Nigeria Police, Ogun State Command’s spokesman Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi explained that the suspect Wasiu Bankole was arrested following a report by the victim at Agbado division that she was taped while sleeping in her house.
He said the victim reported that it was one of her neighbor who heard her screaming that came to rescue her by using a stick to hit the suspect before he jumped off her.
According to the statement the suspect later ran away leaving his clothes, shoe and torchlight inside the victim’s room.
Mr. Oyeyemi said detectives were dispatched to look for the suspect which was fruitful twenty four hours later.
The Police spokesman said the suspect had confessed to committing the crime claiming he acted under the influence of alcohol.
The statement further noted that the commissioner of police has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspect to anti human trafficking and child labour unit for criminal investigation and prosecution while the victim had been taken to the hospital for attention.
