Three officers of the Ogun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, have been reportedly killed by thunder. 

Reports indicate that the officers were struck by thunder on the premises of their office at the Old Toll Gate area of Ilese town in Ijebu North East local government area of the state. 

Witnesses claimed that the FRSC personnel were preparing for their morning parade when disaster struck, pointing out that the sad occurrence had attracted worshippers of Sango, the acclaimed god of thunder to the scene. 

When contacted by Radio Nigeria, the Public Education Officer for the Command, Mrs Florence Okpe said the State Sector Commander of FRSC, Mr Ahmed Umar had proceeded to the scene to assess the situation. 

Mrs Okpe expressed optimism that the Sector Commander’s visit would enable the Command to provide accurate details of the unfortunate incident.

Also, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed the incident described the death of the FRSC personnel as a great loss.

Mr Oyeyemi said the police headquarters had been briefed that 3 persons were killed by lightening at the FRSC office, Ilese, Ijebu.
