An angry mob in Kajola, Atakumosa West Local Government on the Osogbo-Ilesa highway blocked the road for over three hours leaving road users stranded.

The mob comprising large number of youth insisted that they would not allow anyone to use the road unless government construct speed breakers to stop the incessant accidents on the road.

This followed an accident that occurred on the road at about ten o’clock in the morning, claiming one life and leaving four others critically injured.

The officer in charge of rescue operations of the NSCDC in the local government, Mr Yinka Isola told Radio Nigeria that the four other wounded persons had been taken to the hospital.

Mr Isola explained that a Toyota Camry on a high speed ram into the three motorcycles with a passenger each, clearing the six occupants of the motorcycles leaving one dead.

The irrate youth in the town attempted lynching the driver, but for the intervention of police in the area who rescued him.

Consequently, the youth mobilized to the police station, threatening to burn it down if the driver was not released to them.

With the resistance from the police, the mob thereafter moved to the highway blocking all the major routes in and out of the town that connected the community, insisting that Governor Gboyega Oyetola must address them and start the construction of the speed breakers.

The plea of a member of the Osun State House of Assembly who represents the Atakumosa East and West Local councils, Mr Babatunde Komolafe fell on deaf ear as the youth maintained that work on the breakers must commence immediately.
