As parts of the measures put in place by the Federal Government to prevent fire and other natural disasters in the country, the Federal Fire Service has equipped its office in Oyo State with two additional fire trucks.

The Controller-General, Federal Fire Service, Alhaji Liman Ibrahim disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

The controller general, represented by the Zonal Commander, Federal Fire Service,Mr Kehinde Ajasa, noted that the Federal Fire Service office in Oyo state had been operating without adequate equipment for long.

Mr Ajasa said the two sophisticated fire trucks would be handed over to its station in Ibadan next week by the Federal Government to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Fire Service in its fight against human and natural disasters.

In a remark, the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, who spoke through the Deputy Governor, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan stressed that the trucks would assist the state to prevent future occurrence of fire and other natural disasters experienced recently in the state.

Engineer Olaniyan therefore appreciated the Federal Government for the kind gesture.
