Ogun State Government has suspended the planned reopening of religious centres in the state.
Governor Dapo Abiodun made this known while briefing newsmen in his Okemosan Abeokuta office.
The governor, who explained that the decision was taken after a robust dialogue with the religious leaders in the state, said the step became necessary as a result of rising cases of COVID 19 in the state.
While announcing that his administration would not hesitate to ban operation of commercial motorcyclists in the state if the operators continue to flout COVID 19 preventive measures, Governor Abiodun maintained that the state government would impound the vehicle of any commercial driver that contravened inter-state ban.
He also said that all existing guidelines to flatten the curve of the pandemic, including total lockdown on weekends and night curfew between 10pm to 4am remained sacrosanct.
