The Nigerian Army says it is committed to making the welfare of its personnel a priority.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai stated this while commissioning some projects and laying foundation of a poultry farm at the 32 Artillery Brigade, Akure in Ondo State.

Lt. Gen. Buratai who was represented by the General Officer Commanding, 2 Division, Ibadan, Oyo State, Major General Anthony Omozoje said the military decided to take the steps to enhance operations and welfare of its personnel.

Lt General Buratai, maintained that Nigerian Army would remain focused in protecting the nation’s territory at all times.

Speaking, the Commander, 32 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Zakare Abubakar was optimistic that the projects would enhance daily operations of soldiers in the Brigade.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu who was represented by his Special Adviser on Works and Infrastructure, Alhaji Raimi Aminu appreciated the artillery’s contributions towards the state’s security and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the facility.

The projects commissioned included Headquarters Brigade Complex, Guard House, Medical Centre and the newly renovated Army Quarters.
