Police in Ogun State have advised hoteliers in the state against releasing their facilities to be used for any cult related gathering.

The command also appealed to parents and guardians to warn their wards to stay clear of any unlawful gatherings.

The spokesman of the Ogun State Police Command, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi in statement in Abeokuta noted that such facility would be liable for prosecution.

Mr Oyeyemi explained that the command had received intelligence report that members of a notorious cult group were planning to unleash terror and violence on Tuesday 7th of July 2020 across the state to mark what they called 7/7.

He also pointed out that members of the group were planning to use the said date to initiate new members into their fold after which they would engage their rival cult group in a supremacy battle which he said could lead to loss of life and wanton destruction of property.

Mr Oyeyemi said efforts had been intensified to nip in the bud any act capable of undermining the security of the state assuring members of the public to go about their lawful business without fear of harassment or intimation.
