The Ekiti State Security Network Agency code named Amotekun says sixty five percent of its personnel will be recruited based on recommendations from the traditional rulers.

The Commandant of the Corps, Retired Brigadier General Joe Komolafe stated this during a sensitisation visit to Ikole, Oye and Ilejemeje Local Government Areas to educate the people on the importance of the agency.

Retired Brigadier Komolafe, who promised to run a home-grown security outfit where personnel recruited would be deployed to their various communities, said Monarchs would play a pivot role in ensuring that people with proven integrity were recruited into the corps to enhance optimal service delivery.

He said that the recruitment process currently ongoing online was to ensure transparency, accurate data base and prevent fraudsters from hijacking the process.

The commandant warned people of questionable character not to apply.

Earlier, the Board Chairman of Ekiti State Security Network Agency, Chief Akinola Aregbesola said that traditional rulers were custodians of native intelligence, hence the need to involve them in the recruitment process.

Speaking in Ikole Ekiti during the sensitization tour, the Obanla of Ijesha Isu, Oba Gabriel Oso explained that the traditional rulers were ready to abide by the rules guiding the recommendation of prospective Amotekun for recruitment into the security outfit.

The Oloye of Oye Ekiti, Oba Ademola Ademolaju commended the agency for involving kings in the process and promised to work with the agency.
