Hell was let loosed in Akoko area of Ondo State when irate youths from Irun Akoko set ablaze in Eshe Akoko the house of the okada rider suspected to be behind the murder of a 13year old girl a few days ago.

The youths armed with dangerous weapons chased out the house occupants setting it on fire and as well vandalized some other property, claiming revenge for the death of the girl.

The mob had also attempted hijacking the corpse of the victim from the police during which a police vehicle was damaged.

Positive FM gathered that while the okadaman remained in custody for investigation as disclosed by the DPO for Iru, CSP Gbenga Ogunleye, police authorities in the area said they were in pursuit of those who carried out the arson and other damages, insisting it was wrong for people to take laws into their hands.

The traditional ruler of Eshe, Oba Ojo Adewumi and a community leader from Irun Akoko Mr Femi oloketuyi appealed to parties involved to toe the line of peace and not to allow the case spiral into communal clashes.

They, however, demanded thorough investigation into the matter and prosecution of those culpable in the death of the young girl.

The 13 year old girl, who was going home in Irun on okada after running errands for her parents in Eshe market, was reported missing and her lifeless body later found in a bush with suspicions of rape.
