Muslim faithful are making last-minute rush in preparation for eld el Kabir in Osun State.

Radio Nigeria correspondent, Wasiu Ajadosu who visited some major markets like igbona, orisunmibare ,Oluode in Osogbo reports that both buyers and sellers were engaging in business transaction.

Some of the buyers, who complained about the economic situation occasioned by Covid 19 in the country, said they had little resources to purchase necessary materials for the celebration.

A buyer, Mr lukuman Adeniran lamented the rise in the price of commodities, saying it beyond the reach of masses.

Mr Adeniran called on government to urgently come up with measure that would revamp the nation’s economy.

Also a visit to the ram markets indicated that there was low patronage as ram sellers complained that buyers could not afford the ram due to increase in price.

A ram seller, Alhaji mustapha Yaya, who said the price of an average ram ranges from thirty five thousand to fifty thousand, noted that the current economic situation had affected purchasing power of Muslim faithful.

Speaking, an Islamic scholar, Alhaji Lateeful Yusuf urged Muslim faithful to celebrate eld el kabir within their means, saying there was no compulsion in ram sacrifice except for those who can afford it.
