The lawmaker representing Kajola State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Hakeem Mustapha has appealed to the Nigerian Police, Oyo State Command to intensify efforts at investigating the recent robbery attack on Okeho, with a view to arresting all culprit connected with the crime.

Mr Mustapha made the appeal while presenting his personal explanation during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin.

Mr Mustapha said according to investigation, the criminals, who were killed by local hunters, and others arrested by the police, had rented an apartment in the town prior to the operation, hence the need for the police to look inward in its investigation.

The lawmaker, who commended the combined efforts of local hunters, members of vigilante group and the Odua Peoples Congress, OPC, expressed confidence that the planned Western Nigeria Security Outfit, codenamed Amotekun, would complement efforts of the police at combating crime when operational.

Mr Mustapha said it had become imperative for security agencies and community leaders to synergize on crime prevention to avoid reprisal attack of the robbery gang who may want to retaliate the death of others killed during the operation.

He commiserated with the Nigerian Police force and families of those that lost their lives during the robbery operation.
