Drivers of Articulated Vehicles carrying unlatched containers along the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway will henceforth be arrested by the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC.
The Public Education Officer, FRSC Ogun Sector Command, Mrs Florence Okpe, who made this known to Radio Nigeria in Abeokuta, said the special exercise, tagged “FRSC Operation Scorpion Two” would be launched on Monday 10th August, 2020.
Mrs Okpe said the move was in collaboration with relevant bodies to check the activities of truck drivers involved in the dangerous trend of transporting containers without adequate safety measures.
She explained that the State Sector Commander of the Corps, Mr Ahmed Umar accompanied by a state government’s delegation led by the Special Adviser to the Governor Dapo Abiodun on Revenue, Mr. Jide Sanwo, had earlier inspected facilities at Ogun State Trailer Park, Ogere, in preparation for the enforcement.
