The Ekiti State Government has suspended the Principal of Methodist Girls High School, Ifaki Ekiti, Mrs Ogundipe Bolatito Adetutu for alleged dereliction of duty.

The Commissioner for Education, Mr Foluso Daramola announced the suspension in a statement in Ado Ekiti.

Mr Daramola directed the principal to hand over the management of the school to the most Senior Vice-Principal pending disciplinary action by the Teaching Service Commission.

The commissioner explained that the principal was not in the school during an on-the-spot assessment of Governor Kayode Fayemi to public secondary schools ahead of today’s resumption of students in SS3 class.

Mr Daramola noted that non-availability of the principal to receive the governor and his entourage particularly members of COVID-19 Task force affected the visit despite the fact that notice was sent to all public schools on the planned visit.
