Federal Government has restated its resolve to engage youths in productive ventures that will make them self-reliant.

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare stated this at the palace of Ooni of lfe at an event organized by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN to mark this year’s International Youth Day.

The minister, who was represented by a Director in his ministry, Mrs Mariam Abdullahi said the Federal Government was committed to establishing youth platforms and institutions that would further enhance the participation of young Nigerians in decision making.

On his part, Ooni of lfe, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi charged the youth council to develop a social platform where youths can relate through constructive initiatives that would make them contribute to sustainable national development rather than blaming the government. 

Oba Ogunwusi urged youth to embrace productive ventures that would make them become more relevant in nation building.

In a remark, Osun State Governor, Gboyega Oyetola, represented by his Commissioner for Sport and Youth Development, Mr Yemi Lawal urged youths to continue to display readiness to take leadership roles in the country.

Highlight of the event was the presentation of award to  Ooni of lfe, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi in recognition and appreciation of his commitment to youth development in the nation.
