Striking Doctors under the auspices of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, NAGGMPD, Ekiti State Branch have suspended their eight-week-old strike.
Chairman of the association, Dr Kolawole Adeniyi announced the suspension while addressing newsmen in Ado Ekiti.
Dr Adeniyi explained that they decided to suspend the strike following assurance from Governor Kayode Fayemi who promised to meet their demands.
He commended the Chairman, Ekiti State Council of Obas and the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Ajibade Alabi as well as the Bishop Catholic Diocese of Ekiti, The Most Reverend Femi Ajakeye for their intervention.
Dr Adeniyi therefore directed members of the association to resume on Monday while negotiations would continue.
