The Ekiti State House of Assembly, EKHA, has screened and confirmed seven commissioner nominees recently forwarded to it by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

The exercise took place at the Assembly complex in Ado Ekiti where the Deputy Speaker, Mr Akeem Jamiu and Mr Aribasoye from Ikole Constituency I as well as few other lawmakers asked questions from the nominees on their areas of specialization.

After the questions, the House unanimously confirmed the appointments of the nominees, urging them to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Those confirmed were a former Deputy Governorship candidate of the Labour Party in Ekiti state, Alhaja Maryam Ogunlade from Emure, a former chairman of Labour party, Mr Akin Omole from Oye and a former commissioner, Otunba Diran Adesua – Ekiti East local government.

Others are Prince Olabode Adetoyi – Moba, Dr. Mrs Olabimpe Aderiye – Ido Osi, Dr. Oye Filani – Ikole and Princess Iyabo Fakunle from Ilejemeje.

In their brief remarks, some of the nominees, including, Mr Akin Omole, Mr Oye Filani and Otunba Duran Adesua expressed their determination to add value to the policies and programmes of the Governor Fayemi – led administration.

The House also confirmed the nomination of the present Commissioner for Land and Housing, Mr Febisola Adewale as chairman Local Government Service Commission and Professor FEMI Akinwumi as Chairman, Ekiti state Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB as well as seven special Advisers.
