United States actor, Chadwick Boseman, best known for playing “Black Panther” in the hit Marvel superhero franchise, has died of cancer at the age of 43.
In a statement posted on social media Boseman died at home in Los Angeles with his wife and family by his side.
Reports say Boseman was diagnosed with colon cancer four years ago but had not made the information public.
The news has left fans and the Hollywood industry stunned.
In a tweet, director of the movie “Get Out” Jordan Peele, said his death was “a crushing blow”.
Chadwick Boseman who has been described by his family as a true fighter, said he persevered through it all, and produce many of the films that enjoyed massive views.
It was gathered that many of his movies were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy.
Boseman came to prominence playing real-life figures – baseball great Jackie Robinson in 2013’s 42, and soul singer James Brown in 2014’s Get on Up.
