The 2020 entrance examination into School of Science in Oyo State has been held in line with Covid-19 safety protocols.

Our correspondents who monitored the examination at Oyo town, Oke- Ogun, Emmanuel Alayonde School of Science and Wesley College Ibadan  report that the students who were branded in their various school uniforms not only put on their nose mask, washed their hands before entering school premises, but also seated to reflect physical distancing in the examination halls.

Some parents, who accompanied their children to Emmanuel Alayande School of Science, Ibadan said aside adequate preparation and revisions which the students were made to undergo due to the long break occasioned by Covid19, nose-masks were also provided their children so as not to forfeit the mandate of the examination.

In an interview, the Permanent Secretary, Oyo State Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Mrs. Aminant Atere, who was on inspection tour of the exercise to some centers, explained that the examination was conducted in line with NCDC Covid-19 safety protocols, adding that students who failed to comply with examination guidelines were not allowed into the hall.

The Permanent Secretary said the examination became necessary as Oyo State Government had resolved to reopen schools across the state.

Mrs. Atere said over one thousand candidates participated in the examination while one hundred and twenty four students were absent.
