Former Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose says efforts to impose candidates on Peoples Democratic Party members during the coming Zonal

Congress of the party would lead to another crisis.

The former governor made this known at the Ogun State PDP Secretariat while addressing the Ogun State delegates.

Mr. Fayose noted that they were not contesting the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on the zone but said imposition of candidates in any of the states in the zone by the governor would be resisted.

The former governor explained that independence of every state in the Southwest should be allowed and condemned interference from the Oyo State governor.

Also speaking at the event, a former House of Representatives member from Ogun State, Mr. Ladi Adebutu said the party was working to achieve success in the 2023 election.

Chairmen of the party from five states in the Southwest at the end read a communique where it was announced that the five states of Ekiti, Lagos, Ogun Ondo and Osun work together during the Zonal delegates conference.
