Ahead of the October 10 election, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), today officially kicked off the journey to reclaim the governorship seat of Ondo State by flagging off the campaign of its candidate, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede and his running mate, Ikengboju Gboluga.

The ceremony taking place at MKO Abiola Democracy Park, Akure, has in attendance some PDP governors and the party’s bigwigs as well as hundreds of supporters from all 18 Local Government Areas of the state.

Also speaking, immediate past State Chairman of PDP, Mr. Clement Faboyede and a former Commissioner for Environment, Chief Sola Ebiseni lamented that education and health sectors in Ondo state had collapsed, hence the agitation for the election of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede.

In an interview with Radio Nigeria, National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan said the massive number of the people of Ondo state who attended the campaign flag-off, showed that the people want power to return to the PDP in the state in the October 10 polls.

Senator Biodun Olujimi from Ekiti south, insisted that the crisis rocking the South-West chapter of the PDP would not stop Eyitayo Jegede from emerging victorious.

National Chairman of PDP, Prince Uche Secondus and other members of the National Working Committee as well as Governor Seyi Makinde who is Chairman of the National Campaign Council of the Ondo 2020 PDP Campaign, are in the state for the rally.
