The Western Nigeria Security Network code-named Amotekun in Ekiti State says it is working with other security agencies to apprehend those who kidnapped an industrialist Mr Jide Ijadare at his groundnut producing factory on Ijan Ilupeju road.

The Ekiti corps commander of the security network, General Joe Akomolafe stated this when he led some top government functionaries on a visit to Ijan Ekiti to unravel the circumstances behind the act. 

Retired General Joe Akomolafe said government was no longer comfortable with the security situation in the state and gave assurance of more synergy to combat crimes.

He said the corps in collaboration with the police and other security agencies in state would secure Mr Ijadare’s timely release and apprehend the culprits.

It was however gathered that the kidnappers have contacted Mr Ijadare’s family demanding for a twenty million naira ransom.

The industrialist Olajide Ijadare was kidnapped on Tuesday along Ijan Ilupeju road on his way home from his groundnut oil factory and one of his staff was shot dead by the kidnappers.

Mr Ijadare recently returned from the United States of American to Ekiti state to establish the factory where he employed about fifty people.
