The House of Representatives has commenced an investigation into the activities of Federal Government Social Investment Programmes in Ekiti State.

Chairman of the House Public Accounts Sub-Committee, Mr Taofeek Ajilesoro who represents Ife Central North South Federal Constituency told newsmen in Ado Ekiti that the action was not to witch-hunt any personnel but to check their records for proper documentation.

The lawmaker said the committee would visit also the institutions assisted with Federal Government/TETFUND intervention to see how such funds were being spent on projects that could have a direct impact on the students.

Answering questions on time frame for the investigation, Mr Ajilesoro noted that the agencies and institutions involved were properly notified contrary to speculations that they were caught unaware.

He however expressed the committee concern over the inconsistency in some of the reports presented to it by the concerned agencies and asked them to put their house in order.

The four member sub-committee during its first session in Ado Ekiti scrutinized some Federal Government intervention schemes being executed in Ekiti State such as N-power, Conditional Cash Transfer and Home Grown school Feeding Programme.
