Residents of Osun State have lauded Labour Unions for suspending its planned industrial action.

Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Osogbo, A resident, Mr. Adebayo Daodu said the step became imperative to save the nation’s economy from collapsing.

Mr. Daodu urged government to accede to labour demands in the interest of the masses and for advancement of the nation’s economy.

Also speaking, Another resident, Mr. Kayode Oni who supported the deregulation of the downstream sector decried hike in the price of electricity tariff.

On his part, the Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun state, Mr Jocob Adekomi said labour would resume the suspended strike if government failed to accede to their demands.

Mr. Adekomi urged Nigerians to continue to support labour unions in its quest to change economic fortune of Nigerians 

It would be recalled that labour unions had earlier planned to commence nationwide strike today to protest hike in pump price and electricity tariff.
