A 35-year-old school driver identified as Lukman Monsuru has been remanded in Ilesha Correctional Center by Osun State Magistrates’ Court, Osogbo for allegedly driving dangerously.
The prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Akintunde informed the court that Monsuru on September 29, 2020, drove one Coaster Bus with Reg. No: YA 635 EPE dangerously and parked in an unauthorized place thereby causing an obstruction.
He noted that the offence committed was contrary to and punishable under section 18 of Cap 146 Vol II. Law of Osun of Nigeria 2002 and section 155 Amendment of RTA law of Nigeria 2015.
However, the defendant pleaded not guilty to the three counts charge preferred against him by the police prosecutor.
His defence counsel, Mrs S O Ola made an oral bail application for the defendant in the most liberal term.
The presiding Magistrate, Mrs Modupe Awodele ordered that he should be remanded in Correctional Center till Monday, October 8, 2020, when she will rule on bail.
