Men of Ogun State Command of the Nigeria Police have arrested three young men who for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old girl.

The suspects, including two brothers, Oluwaseun Damilohun, Oriyomi Damilohun and Oluwasegun Idowu were arrested following a report lodged at Ifo Police station by an administrative officer of So-Safe Corps, Alimi Olasunkanmi.

The Police spokesman of the Ogun State Command, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi said in a statement that the victim, who was said to had gone to a have her bath in a stream at Pata Abiodun village in Ifo Local Government Area, was dragged to the bush by the suspects, who took turn to have sex with her.

Mr Oyeyemi noted that the suspects had threatened to upload the video they recorded on internet if the victim reported them.

The command’s spokesman, who explained that the Ifo Divisional Police Officer, Mr Adeniyi Adekunle led his detectives to the scene with some So- Safe Corps members where the suspects were arrested, said the victim had been taken to hospital for medical treatment.

Mr Oyeyemi pointed out that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun had directed the immediate transfer of the suspects to anti-human trafficking and child labour unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department for further investigation and diligent prosecution.

He said the commissioner also appealed to parents to warn their children and wards to desist from any form of anti-social behavior, promising that the Police would not spare anyone caught in such vices.
