Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, has called on the protesters across the state to obey constituted authorities and shun any act of violence when expresses their grievances.

This is contained in a statement in Ibadan by NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Mr Oluwole Olusegun.

The statement notes that NSCDC Commandant in Oyo State, Mr Iskilu Akinsanya, made the call with officers and men of the command on ways to protect public properties and loves of the people during the period.

Mr Iskilu said all the units of the corps, including peace and Conflict Resolution unit desk officers, Agro Rangers and intelligent officers should comport themselves on the field following directive from NSCDC Commandant  General, Abdulahi Gana Mohammadu on the need to protect critical infrastructure across the state.

In view of this, the commandant noted that the command had deployed personnel with other sister agencies  to ensure peaceful and calm protest and as well as crime free society.

Mr Iskilu reiterated Command’s resolve to protect innocent protesters as well as  lives and properties of other citizens of Nigerian, irrespective of who they are and where they are from.

He called on the ENDSARS protesters not to allow disgruntled elements to cause untold hardship on people.

 The NSCDC commandant warned members of the public to desist from any act of violence and stop attack on Security agents or their formations as they were all fighting for the same goal.

Commandant Akinsanya therefore prayed would give families, who had lost loved ones in this period, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
