Property worth millions of naira have been destroyed at Agbeni Market, Ibadan, following an overnight clash between suspected hoodlums.

Radio Nigeria team, who visited the market this morning, reports that not less than five shops were set ablaze by the hoodlums.

Two affected shop owners, Mrs Rofiat Yusuf and Engineer Ochide Izuchukwu, said they were shocked when they received an early morning call that their shops had been razed by fire.

A sympathizer, Mr Dawud Agbaje, who spoke with Radio Nigeria, narrated that the suspected hoodlums had for some time, continuously attacked one another in the market.

Mr Agbaje explained that when the hoodlums could not break into the affected shops, they then decided to set them ablaze.

Our team of correspondents, who visited the market, also reported that pieces of broken bottles were seen littered on the floor, while security personnel were on the ground to maintain law and order.
