Police Dismiss Rumours of Ibadan Invasion By Herdsmen

Police in Oyo State have debunked the rumour that a luxury bus brought some suspected herdsmen to Soka area of Ibadan for suspicious mission.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the State, Mr. Olugbenga Fadeyi said the people were in Ibadan to complete their admission at the lead city university, Ibadan sponsored by the former governor of Sokoto State.

According to Mr. Fadeyi Lead City University Management confirmed them as their prospective students.

The Police Spokesperson however urged members of the public to desist from spreading unconfirmed reports that might cause unrest in the society.

It would be recalled that a story broke out yesterday that a luxury bus brought about three hundred suspected herdsmen to Maje, Soka area of Ibadan for suspicious mission.

The story however, caused some unrest at the area which led to the arrest of the suspected herdsmen by the Sanyo Police Station.
