The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, in Oyo State, Mrs. Uche Chukwurah says the Sector recorded more road crashes in the third quarter of this year, between July and September than 112 crashes recorded in the second quarter.

Mrs. Chukwurah who stated this while addressing journalists on the activities slated for 2020 African Road Safety Day and World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims said the crashes was as a result of the rainy season and over-speeding.

She said the Oyo State Command FRSC recorded a total of 142 road traffic crashes and 70 death in the third quarter of 2020.

The FRSC boss pleaded with motorists to desist from the use of Tokunbo tyres, saying more lives can be saved if they use brand new ones.
