Oyo State governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde says his government is determined to renovate at least one primary healthcare centre in all the 351 wards in the state.

He stated this at the appreciation gathering request by some beneficiaries of Year 2020 Omituntun Free Health Programme and handing over of certificates to the participants core health workers across the 33 local government areas and 35 Local council development areas of the state held at Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan.

Governor Makinde who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun noted that in order to reposition the primary healthcare to its rightful position, the present administration is considering to enroll the poor and the vulnerable into Oyo State Health Insurance Scheme. 

The governor described Omituntun Free Health Mission as one of the ideology of the present government to deliver quality healthcare to the doorsteps of all the rural dwellers, the vulnerable and the poor.

In a remark, the Commissioner for Health in Oyo state, Dr Bashir Bello extended gratitude to all participants in Omituntun Free health mission programme.

In separate remarks, the beneficiaries of Omituntun Free Health Mission thanked Oyo State government for the kind gesture to the people of the state.

Over a hundred thousand residents of the state have benefited from the scheme in 1,980 different categories of surgeries.
