Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a couple, Adeniyi Stephen and wife Adetola Adeyinka as well as Ojo Sulaimon for allegedly siphoning diesel from the mast of a telecommunication giant in Agosasa area of Ipokia Local Government Area.
The suspects were arrested after a man Joseph had reported at Ipokia Divisional Headquarters that some thieves had been coming with a car with registration number BNS 261 AAA to siphon diesel from the mast.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Abimbola Oyeyemi said in Abeokuta that the suspects confessed to have siphoned 32,651 liters of diesel valued eight million, one hundred sixty thousand seven hundred and fifty naira.
Mr Oyeyemi said preliminary investigation revealed that Adeniyi Stephen, a staff of the company, masterminded the operation.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Ajogun has ordered that the suspects be charged to court as soon as the investigation was concluded.
