A petitioner before the Ogun State Judicial Panel of Investigation and Complaints on Police Brutality, Human Rights Abuses and Extra-Judicial Killings Mr Anthony Kusimo has alleged that his right leg was amputated due gunshot from a police officer.

Mr. Kusimo made the allegation while appearing before the Panel at Magistrate Court 1, Isabo in Abeokuta.

He explained that he was detained for thirty seven days with torture to confess to being an armed robber by the defunct Special Anti-Robbery Squad.

The petitioner called for assistance from government as he sold properties to seek for medical care due to the incident.

Another petition during the panel sitting, Mr. Gbenga Kehinde, said he was arrested alongside his three friends at Emuren, Ijebu Ode on allegation of stealing sixty three million naira worth fish from a farm in Ijebu Ode.

He told the panel that they spent three months in police custody before they were released.

Hearing of the petitions were adjourned to next year including responses from the affected police officers..
