Travelers leaving Ibadan to other parts of the country have no reason to panic over transport fare as transporters plying Ibadan to other regions have vowed not to hike their fares.

Our correspondent who monitored transport situation in the major interstate parks report that Ibadan to Jos, Kano, Kaduna, Abuja and Zaria, ranged between 8,000 and 11,000 naira depending on the choice of vehicles.

At Ojoo and Iwo Road Interstate Motor parks, Radio Nigeria also observed that Ibadan to Lagos, Akure, Osogbo, Ondo and Ado, ranged between 1,500 and 2,500 naira while Ibadan to Port-Harcourt, Benin, Asaba, and Warri ranged between 5,000 and 10,000 naira.

In an interview, two of the transporters plying Ibadan to Abuja and Kaduna Mr Aruna Jimoh and Mr Kayode Akinola said security risk along Binubari/Kaduna Road had forced them to take Bina Mina road thereby forcing them to spend more on fuel.

Speaking in the same vein, an executive of the Park Management System at Iwo Road, Mr Felix Bayode said the COVID-19 pandemic and the bad condition of the roads had affected their business negatively.

They appealed to government to ensure adequate security on the roads and rehabilitate damaged portion of the roads.
